ST JUDE'S BOWRAL

St Jude’s Bowral is a community of Christian people who worship Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. The church exists to make and grow disciples of Jesus Christ.

We invite you to join us and discover more about him. Every Sunday of the year we gather to be reminded and encouraged from the Bible in the power of the Holy Spirit.

about

OUR MISSION

Jesus Christ is the risen Lord and Saviour and calls everyone to follow him.

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20).

St Jude’s exists to make and grow disciples of Jesus in the Highlands

We make disciples by declaring the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We grow disciples by gathering them into churches, that they might worship and obey Jesus now and in eternity to the glory of God the Father.

We invite you to join us and discover more about Jesus.

OUR MINISTRIES

At St Jude’s we have a vibrant community with events and connect groups that meet regularly and cater for the different needs of our diverse community.

In these small gatherings we seek to establish and equip each other as disciples of Jesus by encouraging one another from the Bible as we teach its word, pray for one another, and persevere in love with intentional Christian fellowship.

What a joy to share the gospel with our kids and see them share it with their friends.
St Jude's offers a variety of children's programs and events, all designed to help our children grow in their faith in and love of Jesus.

At St Jude’s Youth, we’re all about two things: making great friendships, and learning from the Bible about Jesus and his love for us. If you’re in High School, we’d love for you to come and hang out with us!

We aim to provide opportunities for our members to grow in faith, to find their place of mission, and to build community. through a range of ways

Prayer is so fundamental to the life of our church for the simple reason that God our Father is the one from whom all blessings flow. Our dependence on God, rather than our sinful self-reliance, is never more clearly expressed than in prayer.

At St Jude’s Bowral, we desire to care for each other as we experience the joys and challenges of life. The Christian Care model allows us to share God’s compassion and love to those around us, extending the grace that God has generously showered upon us in Jesus Christ.

What a Father

We hear and say the Lord’s Prayer all the time, but there is a richness to be enjoyed when it is carefully considered. Jesus’ prayer from Matthew 6 can act as a tuning fork for the heart even from the opening lines, realigning our fears and motivations, reorienting our gaze towards a loving father and heavenly king.

Staying Spiritually Warm

It's winter. It's cold. And if you go to one of our traditional services, you'll be all-too familiar with the heater's impeccable timing in breaking down right as the first cold snap hits (update: it’s fixed now!). It’s tempting to stay in bed and watch the sermon on YouTube from the comfort of your lounge with a blanket and a big cup of tea.

Faithful Habits

Only recently (at 45!) did I really begin to understand the value of habits. By experience I learned that; sport + an aging body = physical pain. That forced me to think about how to strengthen my body for the sports I still wanted to do. What I came to understand is that the benefits of habits are built up over time. In other words, daily habits prepare and protect us for future struggles.
